Description |
The overall objective of the EU support is to contribute to maintaining or improving ecosystem productivity and the environmental and social integrity of the north coastal lands of the Bay of Bengal.
The purpose of the EU support is sustainable development of the Sundarbans Reserved Forest and the people who currently depend on its resources.
The project focuses on 2 interlinked results: The first result is restored and improved Government of Bangladesh capacity to protect and manage the SRF. The second result is sustainable SRF resource extraction and dependence of surrounding communities on resources gathered from the Sundarbans and their exposure to natural disasters reduced sustainably. |
